A sleepwalker young man, ZIKO is excommunicated from his village for a serious crime he committed in his sleep. This decision is reported to the other surrounding villages. Expelled from his village by a cruel winter day, Ziko, half-naked and hungry, tries to reach the city through the villages that await him with hatred. But a deaf-mute hunter who ignores all this must go to town the same day, by the same route.
